I began basket weaving in the early 1990’s when I received a handmade basket from my sister-in-law as a gift. I wove with flat reed until I retired in 2012 and then taught myself wicker weaving. Prior to the pandemic, I had taken a class in pine needle coiling and when I was isolating with an immune comprised partner, I began coiling as my primary focus. I am a member of the Tampa Bay Basketmakers Guild and have taught basketmaking classes. My work has been displayed at the Florida State Fair.
