By definition, a self-portrait is a representation of oneself created by the individual shown through various mediums such as a painting, drawing, photograph, or digital artwork. It reflects an artists Identity personality, and in this case, Soul!

Artist Statement about the Piece (s) Submitted
Title/Medium: Man Of Many Words [Digital (Adobe Illustrator)]

"I created this piece in fall of 2023 (modified in spring 2024) not only as a school assignment, but as a challenge of self expression. I had to dig deep on defining who I am to make this piece of art happen by fitting words and phrases that best describe myself, to form a portrait of myself.

My piece exudes Art & Soul simply because its my art and soul on display. My story of who I am, my triumphs, my identity, my truth as not just a queer man, but how I see the man I am at this point in my life. My ART displayed with a description of my SOUL.”

I was raised in military family and traveled many places before the age of 8. After the military life, the Washington DC Metropolitan area quickly became my home up until my move to Florida in 2006. Since then I have called Orlando and currently St. Petersburg my home.

I am a radio broadcaster who just graduated from St. Petersburg College with my Associates Degree in Graphic Design. I have always had an interest in art and the way that it tells its own story no matter what medium. I am excited to enter this Art expo.
